The space
William Sherwood owned large areas of land on the north side of Green Lake after a land grant by President James Polk in the late 1840’s. (A copy of the signed grant sits in the dining room) The family eventually partitioned this acreage off and the cottage was added in the 1920’s. Three generations of Sherwood descendants have called this cottage home. As only the second family to own this property we pay homage to the Sherwood family history with the “Sherwood Cottage.” If these old walls could talk they’d tell of a century of happy memories. Our family always looks forward to our time spent making memories at the cottage and we can’t wait for you and your group to come make some of your own!
