Thompson Hidden Ranch is situated on 28 private acres in the beautiful Texas Hill Country approximately 9 miles west of downtown Dripping Spring. It provides the perfect combination of luxury and comfortable country. You will feel a million miles from the city, but there are plenty of fun things to do nearby; wineries, distilleries, breweries, Hamilton Pool, Perdernales Falls, as well as a short drive to Austin.
This lovely 3BR/3BA ranch house is perfect for a fun-filled Texas Hill Country adventure.
There is large workshop and garage on the property adjacent to the house that the owner's son uses on occasion. However, no one will be using the workshop or garage during your stay upon request. Please inquiry prior to booking if you have any concerns.
THE LOCATION
Drive just 15 minutes to take a refreshing dip in Hamilton Pool, one of the most popular and picturesque swimming holes in Central Texas, or to Pedernales Falls with its beautiful limestone formations. Also close is the amazing Blue Hole swimming hole in nearby Wimberley, TX with its spectacular cypress trees, incredible blue color and two chain swings to fling you high into the air and into the water.
In addition, the Fredericksburg wine country area starts within 45 minutes of the home. The area is also a hotbed for craft breweries and distilleries. Family Business Beer Company, 12 Fox Brewery, Jester King Brewery, Last Stand Brewing Company, Argus Cidery, Revolution Spirits, and Treaty Oak Distilling Ranch are all within a 15-minute drive.
For a day in the big city, drive just 50 minutes to downtown Austin. Here you will find live music on 6th Street or the amazing Barton Springs Pool in Zilker Park with it breathtakingly cold spring fed water. The 3 acre, 900 foot long pool also boasts city views.
OUTDOOR AREAS
The house boasts 3 covered porches allowing you plenty of options to curl up with a book or just enjoy the view. With its outdoor grilling area, built in fire pit, Propane heater, inground pool and hot tub, as well as beautiful outdoor spaces; your friends and family will feel on vacation while never leaving the house. You can hike the wonderful property to view deer, road runners, jack rabbits, etc. and bird watch.
LIVING AREAS
The living room has plenty of seating with a sofa, 3 loveseats, an armchair and plenty of additional chairs. Kick back, light a real fire in the wood burning fire place and watch movies on the TV or play games.
KITCHEN & DINING
The well-equipped kitchen is a chef’s dream with commercial gas range and commercial hood. A butcher block island provides ample counter space for preparing meals and gathering with your friends and family.
The separate dining room has seating for 8 or enjoy a casual setting at one of the small tables in the living room or on the patio.
BEDROOMS & BATHS
This home sleeps up to 8 guests in the three bedrooms. There is also a queen air mattress available to accommodate another 2 guests. Two full bathrooms are stocked with complimentary toiletries and bath amenities.
The master bedroom is furnished with a king bed and TV. The luxurious en-suite master bathroom is complete with a double vanity, jetted tub, and walk-in shower with double shower heads. The master bedroom is at one end of the house off the living room and has French doors leading to a private covered porch.
The second bedroom located pool side features another king bed and has French doors leading to the large, covered porch. While the third bedroom does not have direct access to the outside, it is our favorite room filled with family antiques including two antique, double beds. These two bedrooms are at the opposite end of the house from the master bedroom and share a full bathroom with double sinks and combination shower/tub.
