This beautiful, light-filled, 4 bedroom, two bath, 2400 square foot home is situated on five and a half acres of mountain property nestled in old cottonwoods, fruit trees, beautiful gardens, a labyrinth and fountains and all with a creek running through it. The house is very much a sanctuary made of real adobe bricks covered with exquisite, marble-like plaster, large log beams, real corbels and all sorts of santa fe-like details. The kitchen is large with an island and adobe benches that look out through large picture windows towards the creek. The high-ceilinged living room is a wonderful place to relax while sitting by the adobe fireplace and bathed in sunlight streaming through french doors. A hot tub sits on a raised brick patio, overlooking the creek, where you can watch the abundant birdlife during the day and the stars at night. There is a spring-fed pond and many out-buildings on the property, including a barn once featured in the movie 'flash back'! The property is located on a popular road bike circuit and there is hiking on blm land right out the front door. It is less than fifteen minutes drive to carbondale and glenwood springs where you will find excellent dining and a world famous hot springs. Aspen, known for its great skiing in the winter and music and hiking in the summer is only 35 miles away. Or you can just stay put and enjoy the quiet days and star-filled nights, miles away from city lights and sound!
