Summary: We've been coming to "Cabins in the Smokies" for probably 30 years now. Long enough that we enjoy sitting around debating pros and cons and making a game out of remembering aspects of every place we've stayed.This place may well be the best. We have to go really far down the nitpicking rabbit hole to come up with complaints. We're talking "the railing is too high and it blocks the view of the mountains from the hot tub" and "it would be nice if there were a second switch for the kitchen lights." If these are the worst problems, then this place is amazing.The view is phenomenal. It's still close to the main drag in Pigeon Forge, close to Gatlinburg, but feels hours away from both. Deanna (your host) has gone to amazing lengths to make sure you feel at home and know how everything works. I cooked a few meals here, and the kitchen is far better stocked than most places. The bed is comfortable. The theater room is a nice touch, as is the wet bar. And yes, this cabin is part of a gated community, but it absolutely feels private. It's clean. The water pressure is solid. Everything is just...really good.Usually, when the opportunity arises for us to spend a few days in the smokies, we just search and look for a new place. This is the first time we have felt like maybe we'll just come back here from now on. Yes, it's that good. If you're looking for a cabin in the Smokies - give this one a try. You won't be disappointed.
