Your morning may begin relaxing out on the porch with a hot cup of coffee, ease back on the glider bench, breathe in the 'mountain fresh' morning air, and listen to the sounds of nature or read your favorite book. Or sun yourself in the afternoon on the full southern exposure of the large deck. Walk on the private marked hiking trail back to a rushing woodland creek and waterfall. Enjoy watching the constant stream of visitors at the bird feeders. Fill the wildlife feed tub (with some deer feed from the local Agway) and gaze through the family room wall of windows at the amazing nocturnal parade of deer and other animals appearing out of the woodland. After the days activities slip into the sunken hot tub for some deep relaxation or start up the outdoor fire pit and relive the days adventures or plan tomorrows. In the winter, put a few logs in the wood stove and enjoy its cozy ambience while watching the snow fall.
This beautifully decorated mountain log cabin has it all and is ideal for any gathering of family and friends. 3 bedrooms, 2 & 1/2 baths, finished basement with a queen sized futon.
Amenities include: AC, 5 TVs w/cable, wifi, large 6 person jacuzzi in a sunroom, foosball table, horse shoes, bow and arrow target w/backstop, outdoor fire pit, gas barbecue, 3/4 mile private hiking trail through beautiful classic Pennsylvania forest. Driveway has ample parking.
SO WHAT IS THERE TO DO IN THE POCONOS ? Our cabin is less than 30 minutes from 3 major water parks: Camelback, Great Wolf Lodge and Kalahari Resort, a brand new indoor/outdoor water park which is stated to be the 'WORLDS LARGEST INDOOR WATER PARK'. The winter season has Camelback Ski and Snow Tubing Park, Jack Frost/Big Boulder ski areas and Montage Mountain.(all about 30 minutes away) For hiking,Tobyhanna State Park, Promised Land State Park are 30 minutes away. Dingmans Falls, Silver Thread Falls, Raymonds Kill Falls and several other natural attractions are all near Dingmans Ferry about 40 minutes southeast toward the Delaware River. Tannersville Premium Outlets is only 30 minutes away. Lake Wallenpaupack and Claws and Paws Wild Animal Park (open seasonally) are only 15 minutes away. Boat and wave runner rentals can be obtained from Rubber Duckie boat rentals or First Klas Marina on Lake Wallenpaupack. Boat tours are also available. Golf, skeet shooting and zip lines can be found at Skytop Lodge. Large movie theatres with nearby restaurants are in Dickson City and Moosic.
This cabin is situated 5 minutes above the towns of Newfoundland and Greentown where you'll find friendly establishments offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner. If you just want a good pizza, it can be had from Johns Italian on rte. 507 Greentown. Take out food (including pizza) with a creative twist try the Roadside Bistro food truck right down in town, Newfoundland. Great casual dining can be found within a short distance at Overboards (best on the lake in our opinion) on rte. 507 in Greentown, the Dock on rte.507 or The Boat House also on rte. 507 in Hawley. Four star restaurants: the French Manor in Newfoundland, Settlers Inn located in Hawley, Skytop Lodge and Butter Bistro in nearby Canadensis and the Frogtown Chophouse in Cresco. Also casual dining and craft beer at the Pour House in Mountainhome. Also try great Italian cuisine at "Basso" in Cresco, just a few minutes past the Pour House. I think their food is excellent and (take it from me, a guy who married into a Brooklyn Italian family and has eaten in some of the best Italian restaurants in New York) the Calimari here cannot be beaten. I've had it many times and its always that good. How about Ice Cream, Backroads café and Dairy bar right down in town, Newfoundland. If you find your way to Mount Airy Casino just South of Mt. Pocono there is a Guy Fieri's and more.
