Summary: It all depends on context. I visited this property during Monterey Car Week when even the Motel 6 is a $600 a night investment. The motel has a very convenient location and the staff was great with 24 hour per day on site security ensuring that the place was as safe as possible. With all that said, the rooms are outdated and a bit worn, though relatively clean. During MCW, I have stayed at places running the entire gamut from $1800 a night to motels like this. Overall, I think the value was great and I would recommend this during those high leverage occasions when the budget doesn't permit spending several thousands of dollars for what is a bed for a few hours a night. As long as your eyes are open and expectations realistic, it wasn't a horrible experience.
