Home lovingly cared for and enjoyed by just two owners; now on airbnb while owners are abroad for a stretch of time. Bathed in natural sunlight with windows bringing the mountain views in. Open, spacious living room with cathedral ceilings. Wood stove that can be main heat source, but also has central heat for convenience Country kitchen with recently updated stainless steel appliances and gas stove. Sweet dining room with fireplace that does not function but gives a cozy feel. Two large bedrooms upstairs with skylights. One bathroom with tub and shower. Hardwood floors throughout main floor of this quintessential Catskills retreat. Lounge on the large, spacious deck taking in the breathtaking views. Enjoy a wood burning tub and a wood-burning sauna, both professionally cleaned and prepared for your arrival. A stones throw to Woodstock and Phoenicia, Wilson State Park with its lovely trails and boat rentals in the summer, Emerson Resort and Spa and both Hunter and Belleayre Ski Areas. The perfect, central location to access all the Hudson Valley and Catskills have to offer.
At The Mountain Wonder you will have access to the entire home, as well as everything outside: Yard, firepit, wood-fired hot-tub, wood-fired sauna, deck with picnic tables and lounge chairs, yoga/stargazing platforms, a river, and 18 acres to explore. We are relocating for eight months and are working with local friends to run the place. We are social people and will be very happy to be in touch and to welcome you, and to answer questions.
Extraordinarily quiet area in between Woodstock and Phoenicia. Highly secluded, yet close to those two towns. Very low levels of noise and light pollution. Park on site. You need a car. 4wd in winter - no exceptions! We do have a plowing service. We are far from any public transportation, and not terribly close to the Trailways bus stop.
We've set this place up with a bunch of amenities that we have loved using and sharing with friends. To help make sure our guests are able to make the most of them, we provide very clear instructions, and all the materials needed, and can also help you get started if you like.
